Brand Village Regulations
Betta Helvetia

The SwissFish Aquatics Expo 2026 is open to visitors on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

 

  1. Participation & Scope
    The Brand Village offers booth spaces for professional exhibitors, brands, and companies.
    Registration is binding. By registering, exhibitors agree to these regulations.
    Betta Helvetia reserves the right to reject applications without giving a reason and to exclude participants who violate these regulations.
    There are no fixed booth fees and no minimum sales requirements.

     

  2. Booth Space & Placement
    The required booth size must be specified as early as possible during registration so that the floor plan can be organized accordingly.
    Sponsors receive priority in booth selection based on their sponsorship category.
    A booth layout plan (setup and use of your allocated space) must be submitted by October 1, 2026.
    Betta Helvetia will prepare an overall floor plan in advance and assign booth spaces accordingly.
    Final placement will be coordinated with exhibitors in advance, aiming to find the best possible solution for everyone. However, there is no guarantee of a specific booth size or location.
    Changes on-site are not possible.
    Subletting or sharing booth space is not permitted.

     

  3. Sales & Payout
    All sales must be processed exclusively through the central event cashier.
    Exhibitors will receive 85% of their sales revenue, while 15% is retained by the organizer to cover event costs.
    Payouts will be made via bank transfer within 7 calendar days after the event, provided all required payment details have been submitted correctly.
    Sales outside the official cashier are strictly prohibited.

     

  4. Setup, Dismantling & Presence
    The venue Gemeindesaal Zollikon, Rotfluhstrasse 96, 8702 Zollikon, is accessible as follows:
       • Friday: Setup from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
       • Saturday & Sunday: Access from 8:30 AM
    Each booth must be staffed by authorized persons at least 1 hour before opening.
    Booths must be operational by the official opening time.
    Booths must be attended at all times during opening hours.
    Dismantling may begin on Sunday from 3:00 PM onwards.
    If a booth sells out earlier, dismantling is allowed provided it does not disrupt visitors, other exhibitors, or emergency access routes.

     

  5. Equipment & Infrastructure
    Each exhibitor is responsible for their own equipment.
    One electrical connection is provided per booth.
    Tables and chairs can be provided if requested and must be ordered in writing by October 1, 2026.
    Betta Helvetia will provide a booth sign displaying the exhibitor’s name and contact details. This sign must be clearly visible at the booth during opening hours.

     

  6. Animals, Plants & Animal Welfare
    The following rules apply to booths offering live animals and plants:

    • Only healthy, vital animals that are legally permitted for sale in Switzerland may be offered. Protected species, genetically modified animals, deformed breeds, and animals that are too small are strictly prohibited.

    • All animals must be kept and presented in accordance with Swiss animal welfare law and regulations, in particular the guidelines set out in Animal Welfare Information Sheet No. 18.7 issued by the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office.

    • Aquariums must meet the required minimum sizes and be set up in a species-appropriate manner.

    • Aquariums must, among other things:

      • be properly structured (e.g. plants, hiding places)

      • be fully visually shielded on at least two sides

      • have an appropriate stocking density

    • Temporary overstocking is only permitted if the animals are offered for sale on one day only.​​​​​

    • A complete list of all animal species offered, including the number of individuals, must be submitted by October 1, 2026. This information is required for planning and to ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations and will be forwarded to the veterinary authorities after the event.
      Deviations from the submitted list are permitted but must be reported to the market supervision before sales begin. This also applies to animals brought in on the second day.
      Market supervision will inspect all animals before sales begin and throughout the event, comparing them with the submitted list. They will approve animals for sale and reserve the right to make adjustments or exclude individual animals if required for animal welfare or organizational reasons.
    • Pricing is generally the responsibility of the exhibitor. However, market supervision reserves the right to intervene in cases of clearly abusive or unreasonable pricing.
    • Fish may only be sold to persons under 16 years of age with parental consent.
    • Animals may not be given away for free during opening hours.
    • Betta fish (both show types and wild forms) may only be sold by participants of the Zurich Betta Show.
      Show-type betta fish (male and female) must be displayed and sold in individual containers (1 fish per container).
    • Each exhibitor is responsible for the proper packaging of sold animals. Transport bags and suitable insulating materials (e.g. thermal bags or newspaper) must be provided by the exhibitor. All animals must be handed over in a temperature-protected and animal welfare-compliant manner.
    • Each species offered must have a clearly visible information label on the aquarium, including common (German) namescientific name, and basic care requirements.
      ​​These labels must be in place at least 30 minutes before opening. Copies must also be available for customers.
       
  7. Marketing & Conduct
    Flyers and business cards may only be distributed at your own booth.
    Posters, banners, or other larger advertising materials require prior approval from Betta Helvetia.

     

  8. Animals & Entry
    Dogs are not allowed anywhere on the exhibition premises, as required by the veterinary authorities.

     

  9. Liability
    Betta Helvetia accepts no liability, within the limits permitted by law, for loss, damage, or theft of animals, goods, or personal belongings.
    Exhibitors are responsible for any damage caused to the venue or provided infrastructure.

     

  10. Cancellation & Non-Attendance
    If participation is no longer possible, Betta Helvetia must be informed immediately, preferably by phone.
    Cancellations made before September 1, 2026 are free of consequences.
    In the case of late cancellations, Betta Helvetia reserves the right to require a deposit for future participation.
    Failure to cancel and a resulting no-show may lead to exclusion from future events or participation being allowed only against a deposit.
